The Duty KT AKELA and Mk360 KT Wild Weasel holsters are “duty holsters” and might not be practical if you’re in plain clothes. These holsters have an offset away from your body to clear peripherals, accessories, and plate carriers, which makes them stick out a little.

A lot of our customers work in plain clothes or live in an area where open carry is the only option. If you’re in plain clothes, you’ll probably want a low profile holster.

- PTD Retention Strap -

In an effort to serve those who have to, or prefer to open carry in plain clothes, we are making the PTD Retention Strap available as an “add on” to the holster. For example, this can be added to the KT Gunfighter or KT Defender holsters. You'll get a low profile holster with level 2 retention.

This extra safety precaution will help you carry with confidence and comfort. The extra level of retention with a heavy duty “Pull The Dot” (PTD) snap will lock down your firearm. You may still have to fight for your life if someone wants to take your gun, but the PTD Retention Strap won’t make it easy for them.

The extra few seconds this buys you might be enough time for you to react and save your own life.

The PTD Retention Strap is an add on and holster modification.

Just add the PTD Retention Strap to the shopping cart with your holster order and we'll install it on the holster.

The Pull The Dot heavy duty snap button will only release by pulling on the “dot” side of the button.

The strap is made of genuine leather for the best confort next to your body.

The strap will wrap around the grip below the beaver tail to make sure that your handgun does not go anywhere unless you release it.

Compatible with hammer fired pistols, cocked, half, or down hammer positions.

Compatible with Optics/RDS.

Fully removable.

Included Modification To The Holster:

The holster will be built with extra material coverage to allow for the PTR Retention Strap installation.

The holster will have a fastener offset to keep the hardware away from your handgun.
